gold and platinum spinner ring
I have done a number of versions of this ring over the years. traditionally called a “spinner” ring as the top band spins freely atop the wide concave band. I call it my stress relieving ring as the spinning is soothing and I don’t often realize I am doing it!
quite a statement piece with the added diamonds, the platinum shines so much atop the yellow gold.
platinum diamond rings
while almost everything I make is hand forged, the hammer marks do not need to remain. these two platinum rings were forged by hand and hand finished to a smooth polished finished. the sapphire diamond ring is the perfect pinky ring with it’s unusual shape. the diamond infinity band is a classic wedding band and one of my most requested designs. again, simplicity rules. oh and the number of diamonds in the infinity band symbolize their vows. always love it when their is meaning behind the design.
platinum tourmaline ring
When a client comes to me with a spectacular stone, my goal is to design a ring that enhances the natural beauty of the gem. this stunning green tourmaline called for 18k yellow gold, but also wanted extra light to brighten the depth of green color. so once I fabricated the bezel, I began organically “melting” out parts of the gold, to allow light to flow through the setting.
the forged platinum bar ring is a foundation piece for me, I love the way the concave shape of the ring nestles the stone down just enough so that it doesn’t stand up too high off the ring.
hand forged platinum engagement ring
every once in awhile I am asked to recreate a piece from one of the larger fashion houses, this time it was Gucci
she had seen a ring very similar to this in a duty free shop and rather than send me a photo, she sent me a sketch. I had absolute freedom from there and so I selected truly colorless (D color) diamonds to bring as much shine and sparkle to this platinum duo. honestly, I don’t think I could love this engagement/wedding ring set anymore, it is stunning
platinum wedding rings
such simple wedding bands, she designed them, the stones have meaning (personal and complicated, the best kind ;) and she wanted the rings to be stackable, as they already have a few rings given to each other over the years.
this set is a perfect example of how I try to forge you rings that will adapt to your style and compliment pieces of jewellery that you already have and love. sometimes simple is best.
