okay truth, forging the post part, drawing out the silver thin and strong? painstaking to be sure, but well worth the final result :)

you will feel that the entire earring is forged from one ingot of silver. anneal, draw out, forge, repeat. very meditative work for me, simple … gentle … hammer, fire, anvil.

forged to approximately 1.75″long, the ellipsis are light and comfortable and actually give me more sparkle than my other everyday earrings, thin platinum threaders (which mix with my hair).

so fair warning ~ these ellipses may quickly become your “go to” earrings as well.

if they do, I advise always wearing the little clear plastic invisbacks that I ship with your earrings (i will put two pairs in case one goes missing). these safeguard the earrings from being pushed out of your ear and lost. you won’t notice them on your ear and true to their name, they are invisible to other people.

I started always including invisibacks because buried in the dirt, on a playground in Newtown, CT, there lies a yellow solid gold single one of these I will never get to wear again, pushed out by my scarf one wintery day years ago ~ always wear them!
